A little history
Christianisation of Marignane and Berre-l'Étang. "Berra" is cited in the 11th century. In the 12th and 13th centuries, the seigneury belonged to the family des Baux (Guillaume (1225-1265), seigneur de Berre, and others), one of whose members granted the establishment of fairs and markets in 1291. It was raised to a barony in the 15th century in favour of Charles du Maine.
