Baziège is a French commune situated in the north-east of the département of Haute-Garonne, in the Occitanie region. From a historical and cultural standpoint, the commune forms part of the Lauragais, the former « Pays de Cocagne », linked both to the cultivation of pastel and to the abundance of its produce, and to the « grenier à blé du Languedoc ». Exposed to a modified oceanic climate, it is drained by the Hers-Mort, the ruisseau de Rivel, the ruisseau des Mals, the ruisseau de Visenc and by various other small watercourses.
