A little history
Bagneux enjoys an elevated position at the top of a hill, which encouraged its settlement at the dawn of civilisation. Monsieur Albert Maugarny collected on site numerous objects belonging to this past of our town from the Palaeolithic period, the age of the great hunters in the era of knapped stone. Scrapers, as well as fragments of hand axes, were found in the 19th century across the whole commune. A votive well containing a ritual vessel was uncovered at the lieu-dit les Thubœufs, in accordance with the rites of beliefs linked to the cult of the earth practised by Neolithic farmers.
