A little history
Coins, medals, tegulae (roof tiles) and the remains of Gallo-Roman constructions were discovered on the western slope of the hill, on the opposite side from the current village. As the excavations were carried out under 19th-century conditions, one can only suppose that a villa existed here whose owner belonged to the gens Albanius. The first church was consecrated in 1095 by Guillaume 1er, Bishop of Orange, who dedicated it to Saint Victor. A domain of the Counts of Toulouse, Marquises of Provence, this fief was held under co-lordship, a portion of the paréage being held by the princes of Orange of the house of Baux.
