A little history
The first inhabitants of what would later become Apt settled on two prehistoric sites of great importance for regional archaeology. The first was located at les Agnels, close to the hamlet of the same name, near the stream of la Mauragne. It yielded a significant collection of Mesolithic material dated to between 9,000 and 6,000 years before our era. More than five thousand worked flints were recorded there, corresponding to eight different types.
