Tessy-Bocage is a French commune situated in the Manche department in the Normandie region. It was created on 1 January 2016 by the merger of two communes, under the legal framework of the commune nouvelle. The communes of Fervaches and Tessy-sur-Vire became communes déléguées.
A little history
The commune was created on 1 January 2016 by a prefectural order of 28 September 2015, by the merger of two communes, under the legal framework of the communes nouvelles established by law no 2010-1563 of 16 December 2010 on the reform of local authorities. The communes of Fervaches and Tessy-sur-Vire became communes déléguées and Tessy-sur-Vire is the chef-lieu of the commune nouvelle. A merger project with Pont-Farcy, situated in the neighbouring department of Calvados, was launched in 2017. The transfer from Calvados to Manche was decided by decree of 26 December 2017, and Pont-Farcy joined the commune nouvelle on 1 January 2018.
