A little history
The history of the commune is that of the former merged communes. At the beginning of the second millennium, the lords of Sourdeval left their mark. Robert de Sourdeval became an adventurer and knight of the crusade, after his brother Richard de Sourdeval accompanied him with Robert de Mortain and Guillaume le Conquérant to England. Richard became the owner of around fifty manors in Yorkshire. This same Richard donated the église Saint-Martin de Sourdeval to the collégiale de Mortain.
