Saint-Sauveur-Villages is a French commune, situated in the département of Manche in the Normandie region, with a population of 3,208 inhabitants. It was created on 1 January 2019 under the status of commune nouvelle following the merger of Ancteville, Le Mesnilbus, La Ronde-Haye, Saint-Aubin-du-Perron, Saint-Michel-de-la-Pierre, Saint-Sauveur-Lendelin and Vaudrimesnil.
A little history
In June 2015, elected officials began discussions to conceive a commune nouvelle bringing together the former communauté de communes of the canton of Saint-Sauveur-Lendelin. The project did not attract much interest but was relaunched in January 2016 by the mayor of Périers in the context of the merger of intercommunalities, in particular the communauté de communes de Sèves et Taute. The project was poorly received by the communes of the canton of Périers and went no further. In April 2016, the boundary was reduced to seven communes (Le Mesnilbus, Saint-Aubin-du-Perron, Saint-Michel-de-la-Pierre, Hauteville-la-Guichard, Montcuit, Vaudrimesnil and Saint-Sauveur-Lendelin).
