A little history
Saint Julien was in the 12th century a civil vicariate, in which its village of Chabrel is located. Its name comes from the châtellenie d'Alboy, which gave it, up until before the Revolution, the name of Saint-Julien d'Alboy, transformed into Saint-Julien au boy, and then today Saint-Julien-aux-Bois. Under the French Revolution, in order to follow a decree of the Convention, the commune changed its name to Julien-Quinsat.
