A little history
A La Motte de Pont-Roger, seigneur de Saint-Jean-des-Champs, was in 1434 among the 119 defenders of the Mont-Saint-Michel, as was a Bricqueville whose family would go on to become the owner of Pont-Roger. On 1 January 1973, the commune merged with Saint-Léger and Saint-Ursin, which retained the status of associated communes.
