It was created on 1 January 2016 by the merger of five communes, under the legal framework of communes nouvelles. The communes of Notre-Dame-d'Elle, Précorbin, Rouxeville, Saint-Jean-des-Baisants and Vidouville became communes déléguées.
A little history
As early as 2011, during discussions between Saint-Jean-des-Baisants and Notre-Dame-d'Elle, a coming together with Rouxeville and Précorbin had been considered. The commune was created on 1 January 2016 by a prefectoral order of 26 November 2015, through the merger of five communes, under the legal framework of communes nouvelles established by law no 2010-1563 of 16 December 2010 on the reform of territorial communities. The communes of Notre-Dame-d'Elle, Précorbin, Rouxeville, Saint-Jean-des-Baisants and Vidouville became communes déléguées and Saint-Jean-des-Baisants is the chef-lieu of the nouvelle commune.
