Saint-Amour is a French commune situated in the département of Jura, the cultural and historical region of Franche-Comté and the administrative region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. A little history

In 585, Gontran Ier, King of Burgundy and grandson of Clovis, had a church built at Vincennes-la-Jolie, which was then no more than a small town in a territory belonging to the bishops of Mâcon, and later in the first half of the 10th century to Albéric de Narbonne-Mâcon. The church was intended to house the relics of saint Amator and saint Viator, two Christian soldiers of the Theban legion said to have been killed at Saint-Maurice d'Agaune in Valais. The keeping of the relics was entrusted to monks who established a monastery close to the church. The miracles attributed to the relics attracted numerous pilgrims to the small town, which developed around its church.
