It was created on 1 January 2016 under the status of commune nouvelle following the merger of Quettreville-sur-Sienne (commune déléguée) and Hyenville (commune déléguée), then expanded in 2019 to include Contrières (commune déléguée), Guéhébert (commune déléguée), Trelly (commune déléguée) and Hérenguerville (commune déléguée).
A little history
The history of the commune is that of the former merged communes. During 2015, the communes of Quettreville-sur-Sienne (commune déléguée) and Hyenville decided to create a commune nouvelle named Quettreville-sur-Sienne, which was due to come into being on 1 January 2016. The prefectoral order setting out the conditions was published on 4 November 2015. In February 2018, the mayors of Contrières, Trelly and Hérenguerville expressed a wish to join the commune nouvelle, followed in April by Guéhébert.
