Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine is a new French commune located in the département of Seine-Maritime in the Normandie region. Created on 1 January 2016, it was born from the merger of the four former communes of Auberville-la-Campagne, Notre-Dame-de-Gravenchon, Touffreville-la-Cable and Triquerville, which then took on the status of délégué commune. Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine is the economic centre of the communauté d'agglomération Caux vallée de Seine.
A little history
During 2015 and at the request of the neighbouring commune of Triquerville, Notre-Dame-de-Gravenchon led the process aimed at creating a new commune, in accordance with the arrangements recently permitted by the Loi Pélissard of March 2015, in order to benefit from a financial incentive from the State, which allows them either to avoid a sharp increase in taxes or to having to cut services to residents. Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine was created on 1 January 2016 following a prefectoral order of 30 November 2015 at the request of the four municipal councils of the communes of Auberville-la-Campagne, Notre-Dame-de-Gravenchon, Touffreville-la-Cable and Triquerville.
