Périers was established on a Roman road. The estate held the title of baronnie and belonged to the abbaye de Saint-Taurin d'Évreux. In 1256, Raoul de Grosparmy, bishop of Évreux and later cardinal, welcomed King Saint Louis to Périers. Louis XIV engaged the bailliage and vicomté de Périers to the comte de Toulouse, Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon.
