Morangis (pronounced [mɔʁɑ̃ʒis]) is a French commune situated eighteen kilometres south of Paris in the département of l'Essonne in the Île-de-France region. Previously called Louans, the area was for a long time shared between Parisian nobles and religious congregations and occupied by wine growers and market gardeners. Served at the end of the 19th century by a tramway, the Arpajonnais, the territory was developed for housing from the interwar period onwards, before a significant business zone was established following the opening of the A6 motorway.
