A little history
The site of Macherin, a lieu-dit near Sommeville along the ru de Baulche, was occupied from the Neolithic period to the Roman era. The first period is well represented (houses, funerary structures, a necropolis and an enclosure...). The Neolithic necropolis is composed of three nuclei and contains several types of graves, demonstrating the coexistence of systems foreign to one another. It is the first Chasséen necropolis to have been excavated in the Paris Basin (excavations beginning in 1999).
