The commune of La Couture-Boussey was formed from the merger, on 25 May 1844, of the communes of La Couture and Boussey. La Couture has a long tradition of manufacturing wind instruments dating back to the 17th century. Around 24 August 1944, during the Liberation, a German command post was established in the église Notre-Dame.
