It was created on 1 January 2017 by the merger of seven communes from the former canton of Juvigny-le-Tertre, under the legal framework of communes nouvelles. The communes of La Bazoge, Bellefontaine, Chasseguey, Chérencé-le-Roussel, Juvigny-le-Tertre, Le Mesnil-Rainfray and Le Mesnil-Tôve became communes déléguées.
A little history
Concluding a project launched in 2015, the municipal councils of seven communes voted in June 2016 to merge under the legal framework of communes nouvelles established by law no 2010-1563 of 16 December 2010 on the reform of local authorities. The seven communes became communes déléguées and Juvigny is the chef-lieu of the commune nouvelle.
