Héry is a French commune situated in the département of Yonne and the région of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
A little history
The land was occupied before the Gallo-Roman period. The Serein forms the northern boundary of the territory of the Éduens during part of their era, also including Seignelay and extending beyond the Yonne. Later, Héry became the last place in the comté de Tonnerre. To the north, the territory of the Lingons extended as far as Pontigny and beyond towards les Baudières, including Rouvray, Venouse, Pontigny, Ligny and Maligny. Until 1789, Pontigny marked the boundary of the diocese of Langres, the former capital of the Lingons. Several ancient roads pass near the village, the most famous being the Via Agrippa de l'Océan, which crossed Héry and crossed the Serein at les Baudières.
