A little history
The fontaine Sainte-Marguerite de Guillon is an archaeological site dating from the late Bronze Age III. During the Hundred Years' War, Guillon was occupied by the English army until a treaty was signed between Bourgogne and England, known as the "traité des moutons d'or". Bourgogne, thus freed from the English yoke, had to pay 200,000 moutons d'or. During this transaction, Édouard III stayed at the château de Guillon.
