Grand Bourgtheroulde [ɡʁɑ̃ buʁtʁud] is a French commune situated in the département of Eure in the Normandie region. Created on 1 January 2016 under the status of commune nouvelle, it brings together the former communes of Bourgtheroulde-Infreville, Bosc-Bénard-Commin and Thuit-Hébert.
A little history
In 2015, the communes of Thuit-Hébert, Bosc-Bénard-Commin, Bourgtheroulde-Infreville and Saint-Pierre-du-Bosguérard considered merging in order to deal with the reduction in the state's global allocation to local authorities. Saint-Pierre-du-Bosguérard subsequently withdrew from this process. The commune nouvelle of Grand Bourgtheroulde was created by a préfectoral order of 9 December 2015 which took effect on 1 January 2016 through the merger of the three communes of Bosc-Bénard-Commin, Bourgtheroulde-Infreville and Thuit-Hébert, which became communes déléguées. Its chief town was established at Bourgtheroulde-Infreville.
