A little history
In Antiquity, the site was occupied by a Roman station on the road between Paris and Rouen. Clovis liked to find retreat on the île du Moulin, where he buried fragments of the Holy Cross. Legend has it that Merlin would come there to gather the apple branch from the sacred water of the island. The Templars built the salle du grand chapitre there, which housed their scriptorium.
