A little history
Under the Roman Empire, the forest of Vernois and the val de Voiteur was fiscal land. Between Domblans, the forêt du Vernois and la Muyre there existed a métairie (fiscum). Several Roman roads crossed the territory, leading to the Gué Farou. One came from Lons le Saunier passing through la Muyre (Chemin des salines, les Grandes-Charrières, la vie Poire) to go towards Bréry (chemin des Allemands).
