A little history
The planting of vines on this terroir dates back to the Gallo-Roman era, as shown by a sculpture of a grape-picker discovered at the neighbouring site of Escolives-Sainte-Camille. Throughout the history of the village, vine-growing was at the heart of its activity. The wine was exported to Paris on boats that travelled down the Yonne and the Seine. The phylloxera destroyed the Coulanges vineyard at the end of the 19th century.
