It was created on 1 January 2016 under the status of commune nouvelle through the merger of Écardenville-sur-Eure, Fontaine-Heudebourg and La Croix-Saint-Leufroy, which became its communes déléguées.
A little history
Several communes expressed a wish to come together in a commune nouvelle. This project to create a commune nouvelle was approved by the municipal councils of the three communes Écardenville-sur-Eure, Fontaine-Heudebourg and La Croix-Saint-Leufroy in the early summer of 2015 and was intended to avoid the reduction of state grants until 2017, to allow improvements to be made to the living environment and surroundings for the benefit of residents and the local economy, and to consider structural projects on the scale of the new territory.
