Buchy is a new French commune situated in the département of Seine-Maritime in the Normandie region. It was created on 1 January 2017 under the status of a new commune following the merger of the communes of Buchy, Bosc-Roger-sur-Buchy and Estouteville-Écalles.
A little history
In 1876, the municipal council presided over by Dr Persac decided to provide the town with a water supply system. The town of Buchy subsequently erected a bust in honour of docteur Persac on the public square bearing his name. In 1889, two suction and force pumps were installed along with a suction pit intended to pump water from the source at the moulin d'Héronchelles to Buchy. The water originated from a spring situated on a farm close to the mill, which was captured and conveyed by pipework running alongside the river, and passed beneath the canal feeding the mill wheel.
