It was created on 1 January 2016 by the merger of six communes, under the legal framework of communes nouvelles. The communes of Bricquebec, Les Perques, Quettetot, Saint-Martin-le-Hébert, Le Valdécie and Le Vrétot became communes déléguées.
A little history
The communes came together in 2015 to embark on the creation of a commune nouvelle, allowing them to preserve their level of dotation globale de fonctionnement. On 28 July, the municipal council of L'Étang-Bertrand decided to join the discussions on the commune nouvelle project, but two months later it withdrew. The commune was created on 1 January 2016 by the merger of six communes, under the legal framework of communes nouvelles established by loi no 2010-1563 of 16 December 2010 on the reform of territorial authorities. The prefectoral order setting out the conditions was published on 4 December 2015.
