From a historical and cultural standpoint, the commune lies in the pays de Conflent, corresponding to the collection of Pyrenean valleys that converge with the bed carved by the Têt between Mont-Louis and Rodès. Exposed to an altered oceanic climate, the town is drained by the Cady, the Riu de Saint-Vincent (ca) and by various tributaries of the Saint-Vincent.
