Exposed to a Mediterranean climate, it is drained by the Jaur, the Aguze, the Salesse, the ruisseau de Cavenac, the ruisseau de Fonclare, the ruisseau du Saut and various other small watercourses. Included within the parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc, the commune possesses a remarkable natural heritage, two Natura 2000 sites (the grotte de la Rivière Morte and the grotte de la source du Jaur) and four natural zones of ecological, faunal and floral interest.
