A little history
Established over a very long period, Saint-Père is situated near the ford of the ancient road running from Autun to Auxerre via Quarré-les-Tombes. Around 6000 BC, people settled on the site of Saint-Père because the land there was fertile and water was close at hand. From this period, archaeological excavations have uncovered a grating made of broken pebbles and worked flints.
