A little history
Quarré, formerly Careacum, belonged to Corbon, seigneur de Corbigny. His son bequeathed it in 706 to the abbaye de Flavigny. In the 11th century, the village passed under the authority of the sires de Chastellux, barons de Quarré. The château was built below the current étang.
