Neuvy-Sautour is a French commune situated in the département of Yonne, in the région of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Equally distant from Auxerre and Troyes along the very busy Nationale 77, which connects the A6 motorway (near Auxerre) and the A5 motorway (near Troyes), it lies approximately 170 km from Paris.
A little history
Aerial photographs show various traces of soil occupation dating back to the end of the Bronze Age or the Iron Age. They reveal, to the north of Boulay, towards the forêt d'Othe, protohistoric paths running from west to east, which follow the cuesta of the forêt d'Othe from the confluence of the Yonne and the Tholon as far as the Seine valley. These paths cross two large groups of necropolises. The first, made up of fifteen small circular enclosures and one quadrangular enclosure, at the lieux-dits of la Pierre Saint-Martin, des Grands champs and du Petit noyer, extends over approximately 450 metres.
