Limours (pronounced [limuʁ]), sometimes called Limours-en-Hurepoix, is a French commune situated thirty-one kilometres south-west of Paris in the département of Essonne in the Île-de-France region. Located on a plateau crossed by a stream, the Prédecelle, the agricultural and commercial town, a rival of Arpajon, was incorporated into the royal domain in 1376 by Charles V, then given as an appanage to favourites and confidants. Limours was in the 1930s directly connected to Paris by the Paris - Chartres via Gallardon line until its closure on the eve of the Second World War.
