A little history
Excavations carried out at Flogny have brought to light Gallo-Roman burial sites. However, in his book Tonnerre et son Comté, published in 1973, Jean Fromageot expresses reservations about the lieu-dit Camp romain along the Armançon, whose origin is said to post-date that period. Via the Seine, the Yonne and the Armançon, the Normans carried out numerous incursions as far upstream as Tonnerre.
