Arcueil (prononcé) is a French commune situated in the département of Val-de-Marne in the Île-de-France region, forming part of the métropole du Grand Paris and the Forum métropolitain du Grand Paris. This commune, which is more than 90% urbanised, had in 2010 45% social housing, a few green spaces, and lies largely in the valley of the Bièvre. Its urbanisation dates from several successive periods, which results in a juxtaposition of buildings of various styles (brick, maison de maître, concrete block), of new and old built fabric, of industrial wastelands and currently abandoned buildings.
