Quetigny, the town

Quetigny covers 8.2 km², lies between 211 and 251 m above sea level and had 8,971 inhabitants in the 2023 census.

Quetigny (pronounced [kə.ti.ɲi]) is a French commune belonging to the Dijon Métropole metropolitan area. It is situated in the département of Côte-d'Or in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. Its inhabitants are called the Quetignois.

A little history

Quetigny has had a rather unique history in terms of its development. It grew from a small village of 300 inhabitants in the 1960s to a town of nearly 10,000 inhabitants today. Behind this transformation was a mayor, Roger Rémond, who refused the large housing estate model imposed on communes on the urban periphery at that time and wished to retain control of the town's development by purchasing land through a municipal agency. From 1968, the first Carrefour supermarket in the region opened there, the fifth in France.

Selling in Quetigny

Pricing in Quetigny starts by placing your property inside the €1,699 to €2,422 band rather than on the median alone. The median describes the middle of the market; condition, floor, outdoor space and energy rating decide where in the band you sit.

With 84 sales a year, Quetigny is regular without being deep. Positioning matters more here than in a dense market, because a buyer who steps back is not immediately replaced.

Briveo values your Quetigny property from the same DVF file, keeping only sales of comparable properties closest to your address, free of charge and with no obligation, then supports the sale through to the deed.

Buying in Quetigny

Reading the €1,699 to €2,422 band is a buyer’s main tool in Quetigny. A property at the bottom is not a bargain and one at the top is not a rip-off, the band measures how different the properties are, not how well they are priced.

Prices moving up narrow the room for negotiation without closing it, a property that has been on the market a long time is negotiable whatever the trend says.

Acquisition costs are budgeted on top of the price, around 8 % on an existing property, around 3 % on a new one. These are orders of magnitude; the notary computes the exact amount.

How the Quetigny market is moving

Over the last twelve published months the median apartment price moved by +8.2 %. A move of that size over a single year often reflects a change in what is being sold as much as a change in value.

No five-year reading is available for Quetigny. The apartment sales we currently use (2023 à 2025) do not go back far enough to compute one, so the long-term direction cannot be stated here.

Among the towns tracked by BRIVEO in the same department, on the median apartment price, Chenôve sits 37 % below and Saint-Apollinaire 52 % above. Those are the gaps a buyer widening their search area actually meets.
