It was in the great hall of the hôtel de ville that, on 26 March 1918, the act entrusting général Foch with the "unified command of the allied forces on the western front" during the First World War was signed. Doullens housed, until 2006, the base aérienne 922 Doullens, which supported the radar station at Lucheux.
