Administratively attached to the arrondissement des Sables-d'Olonne, Angles is one of the twenty founding communes of Vendée-Grand-Littoral, an intercommunal structure created in 2017 under the name of communauté de communes Moutierrois-Talmondais, resulting from the merger of the Pays-Moutierrois and the Talmondais. With its 3,115 inhabitants (2023 census), it constitutes the second most populous commune, according to the official population figures, behind that of Talmont-Saint-Hilaire.
