Gestel [ʒɛstɛl] is a French commune, a member of the Lorient Agglomération conurbation authority, situated in the Morbihan département in the Bretagne region. Historically a rural village of the Vannetais and the Kemenet-Héboé, Gestel became a commune in 1790. After suffering extensive destruction during the Second World War, the commune was rebuilt and then developed owing to its proximity to the town of Lorient.
